A while ago a buddy and I became aware of this high altitude lake deep inside Estes Park where the creek trout angling was expected to be ridiculously great. I had been on a little bit of a completely dry spell on account of being brand-new to the location and not yet in tune with the local streams ... in addition to not being a really good anglers. So the idea of apprehending a whole lot of trout appeared actually enticing.
After spending all morning climbing, climbing the side of a waterfall, managing a 40 level decrease in temperature, and also having a run in with a couple elk, we ultimately got to the lake. It was a classic high altitude lake embeded between towering rims. It was deep blue and aqua around the shallows and tidy sufficient to consume.
