When I first began fly angling, I purchased a 9 foot 5wt, a normal trout pole job horse. I fished it for some time however didn't have as much enjoyable angling for the smaller sized fish that occupied the creeks near my residence. So I bought a 3 wt. rod. This was the beginning of the fixation. Much like selecting a golf club for the try, you have you choose a fly pole for the angling disorders. This made my fishing experience so much far better!
Living in southerly Oregon, I needed to get a steelhead configuration so I got a 9'6" 7wt. For the lengthiest time these 3 rods covered all my standard fly fishing requirements. But when I began operating in a fly store, I had accessibility to more rods and began seeing the worth of a much more customized pole.
