The record for cobia is 135 lbs. Many cobia are 25 to 60 lbs. Be careful when fishing for cobia, they are difficult striking and also are hazardous. Sometimes they are mistaken for sharks. They have a much lower mandible that sticks out past the upper mandible with dark skin that varies from light bulb to tan. Their body is lengthy and slim with a yellow-white underside.
