I went back to position under a tree from the rainfall which was coming down heavier now and also watched the birds. I felt like if I didn't obtain my line wet the remainder of the day that this travel would still be considered an effective trip. I didn't need to hook up with a large fish or land a lots of trout to enjoy my Sunday. It came over just positioning, being still, and observing the remarkable playfulness of nature.
There were reports of springers turning up the Rogue Stream and into the hatchery this weekend. Let me rephrase that ... there was A report of A springer making it to the hatchery this weekend. It was duplicated simply sufficient to make it feel like things were going off.
